My Reflection

I was proud of taking part in all the activities and giving it a go. I found sailing tricky because the boom almost hit me, it skimmed my head. Next time I would like to do archery again, it was fun.

I am going to ask mum for  bow and arrow for Christmas.

Constructing Shapes

My Reflection

We found it easy to use the geo board with the elastic bands. I found it tricky to do the first shape because I got frustrated. Mrs Walker gave me some tips and I got there in the end. I enjoyed doing this shape work. I would like to do some harder ones to make me think.

My Reflection

I was learning to put pictures in order of how I thought they came in the story Kensuke's Kingdom. I then had to write down why I had chosen the picture. Ryan helped me with the writing. I found it easy to order the pictures. I am pleased with how well I concentrated.

 MY  Reflection 

I was learning about things we say in English language which can be confusing. The ones I knew were:  Pull your socks up and He bit off more than he could chew.The one I find too hard was 'Her name rang a bell'. Yohan helped me with this work. I need to listen for poeple using idioms when they speak.

My Reflection

I was learning to test the soil.  I put some cotton wool in the top of a plastic container  and we put in water in the cup and timed how long it took to reach the bottom. The water that went the quickest was in the soil that had the most air- this was school soil which was like compost

I wrote this description after I listened to a piece of music. I worked with Atharv. It was easy to think about Jurassic Park. I had some good ideas and Atharv helped to write them. I need to work on metaphors as I find those tricky.

I need to work on practising subtraction. I can do this by practising more subtraction problems at home. My goal is to get 80 out of 100 by the end of term 2.

I was trying to work out the fraction that was shaded. I counted the number of shaded ones and then I counted how many pieces there were altogether. I find fractions tricky and need to work on this.

I listened to the book and watched the film. I talked about the differences. There are differences between books and films because some things are easier when they are watched. I found it tricky to think of lots of differences.

I was learning to write about similes and metaphors. While writing it was difficult to recognize what a simile and a metaphor was at times. Next time I will add more similes and metaphors in my writing.

Decimal Dominoes

My Reflection

I was learning to match decimals with their decimal fraction. I found it tricky to match 21/10 with the right decimal because the number was big. Mrs Walker helped me by showing me some fraction pieces. I know that ten tenths make a whole one. So if I have 20 tenths I have 2 whole ones. If I have 21 tenths I have 2 whole ones and 1/10 left over. I need to do some more practise with this.

We were learning to play Bulrush with a soccer ball. I enjoyed this game because I like playing with my friends.
